seeminglee.swurl.com/timeline
Swurl is yet another RSS aggregation service that I just discovered. it has the usual list view (see seeminglee.swurl.com) but also a timeline view that places your activities around the activities themselves, instead of locking them into a calendar view. I like this.
Unlike most services which requires you to go about to invite your friends to join the service, it fetches your contacts from various services into the friends list automatically.
More goodies > FriendFeed is that Swurl apparently imports your complete set of Flickr data, not just recent stuff like FF. In this sense, I can see Swurl function better as a history trail.

Dipity = RSS-driven interactive timeline
Found this nifty site called Dipity yesterday which will turn any RSS feeds (Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, you name it) into an interactive timeline.
The most straight-forward thing to do is of course to visualize your own data:
Interactive version:

Since it's RSS-driven, you can create anything. Here's a visualization of IconSpam:

Yahoo Pipes: Search Engine Masturbation / 2007 / SML
Thanks to Alex's generous recommendation, I would like to unveil to the world my first Yahoo! Pipes that is reusable by the general public for your daily vanity search activity:
Drum roll...
Yahoo Pipes: Search Engine Masturbation = Google Search + Live Search + Yahoo Search
For those who are not familiar with Yahoo Pipes, here is the official description:
Pipes is a powerful composition tool to aggregate, manipulate, and mashup content from around the web.
Like Unix pipes, simple commands can be combined together to create output that meets your needs:
- combine many feeds into one, then sort, filter and translate it.
- geocode your favorite feeds and browse the items on an interactive map.
- power widgets/badges on your web site.
- grab the output of any Pipes as RSS, JSON, KML, and other formats.
The source of this pipe look like this:
I have been using it to create a rather large collection of RSS feeds for myself—which by the way is what is feeding all those content at the bottom of this page&mdashbut this is the first one that I have created to service the public.
This pipe simultaneously search for any search string using Yahoo, Google and Live Search. When you run the pipe (e.g. Run Pipe by entering "See-ming Lee" in the text input box), you will get a result that looks like this:
You can also subscribe to the RSS feed after you run the pipe. Translation: you don't need to Google yourself everyday. Just add the RSS onto your RSS reader and let the machine do all the SEM (SML: Search Engine Masturbation) for you.
Happy masturbating!

Kijiji = eBay's free classifieds business unit
Kijiji is free online classified business entity which eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) launched to an international market two years ago to an international audience just started offering free local classified ads to New York and New Jersey.
Kijiji means village in Swahili (1), and has more-or-less the same features and functionality offered by Craigslist, but with a more user-friendly interface that will not alienate first-time users in the same way that del.icio.us has to some Netizens.
You get to a location either through a Flash map where you hone into your specific area, or use the text links below the interactive map.
Similar to the eBay UI, the items are displayed in a table, with clearly labeled and sortable table headers for price, location and time the ad was posted, together with a thumbnail view of the item. You can also refine your results by type (Looking for vs Offering) and location.
You can also sign up RSS Feeds and/or Kijiji Alerts, a daily email with the newest ads in specific categories.
The service is currently offered in 20 markets, 300 cities for 17 million users worldwide, including: Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and United States.
